Dear Parents / Carers,
In the event of prolonged school closures, we are providing you with a list of suggested activities and websites to enable your child to continue with their learning.
Please try to ensure your child completes a range of these activities every day.
Reading
Your child should read for at least 15 minutes every day. The following websites have free ebooks for children.
The website Pobble 365, which is free to access, has lots of different writing ideas too.
You will also find attached a list of other ideas.
Spelling
Please find attached a list of spellings for the children to learn each week.
Times Tables
Your child should practise these for at least 15 minutes every day.
Children in Year 3 are expected to know their 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 by the end of the year. However, by the end of Year 4, children are expected to know all their times tables up to 12 x 12. The suggested learning order is as above and then 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12.
If your child is in Year 3 and confident on the year 3 times tables please ask them to start learning the other ones.
The children will need to know these out of order and the corresponding division facts,
For example, 4 x ? =20
We would recommend the following websites to help your child learn their times tables:
Grammar
We will upload different grammar activities on the spag.com website.
Maths
Please could you ensure your child completes some mathematical activity every school day.
We have included a list of end of year expectations for Years 3 or 4. We would also recommend the following websites:

The school subscribes to Education City which covers are range of subjects. Your child will have their own login details to access this.
Please be aware that, as we are only halfway through the academic year, the children will not have been taught all of the end of year learning objectives in any subject.
The curriculum overviews for all year groups are on the school website. This will give you information about specific topics for each half term.
Please encourage your child to complete some form of physical activity every day.
We hope that you find all of the above information helpful. We would recommend discussing with your child every day what you plan to achieve.
Good luck, enjoy and stay safe!
