PHONICS - LITTLE WANDLE
At St. Alban's, we have just adopted a new phonics scheme called Little Wandle. There is a very informative parent's section if adults want to look at ways of helping children at home or understanding the work they do in school. There is information on the sounds that your child will be learning, with some videos which explain about pronunciation.

Welcome to Year 1
Welcome to year 1!
It is lovely to see the children back in school once again. They have settled really well already!
Our timetable for this year is as follows:
· Reading- Reading books will be changed on a Friday. Please bring book bags to school every day and practise reading the books every night.
· P.E. lessons will take place on a Wednesday and Thursday. Please could you make sure the children come to school in their P.E. kits on those days.
· Homework will be sent home on a Friday evening to be completed for the following Friday.
· Please could we ask that all uniform is labelled clearly with your child’s name and that a water bottle is brought daily also with your child’s name on it.
· The children will be working as a Year 1 class in the mornings and will be joined by Year 2 in the afternoons as a mixed class.
Thank you for your support.
Mrs Seed, Mrs Goni, Mr Boardman and Miss Morris.
