About Our School

St. Alban’s is a Group 2 Catholic Primary school situated on the edge of Blackburn town centre. The school, which sits in large grounds, has three separate playgrounds and has recently undergone extensive renovation and redecoration.

It has seven spacious classrooms and a large open plan Nursery and Reception unit for Early Years provision which children can access from the first term after their third birthday. The maximum admission number for each class is 30 and each class has full time teaching assistants working alongside the teacher to support them with their learning.

The school has close links with the parish and the local community and parents are encouraged to come into school to class assemblies, masses and regular fund raising events.

While the school has a strong catholic ethos we also have a percentage of children from other faiths and cultures. We at St. Alban’s are proud of our diversity and the opportunity to work together in an ethos of tolerance and mutual respect. The school actively promotes an inclusive education and provides a high level of support for children with a range of special educational needs.

All visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
