Dear Parents

In year 3 we have three members of staff that teach and support your children. Miss Costello is the class teacher; Mrs Passerini comes in on a Monday afternoon to teach the children and Miss Jones is the teaching assistant.

Physical Education (PE) takes place on Monday afternoons with Mrs Passerini and Thursday mornings with Miss Costello. In PE we are learning how to balance and travel in different ways.

Children are allowed to bring in snacks for break times if they wish. The appropriate snacks that they can bring are the following – plain biscuits, any piece of fruit or cheese (no chocolate allowed unfortunately!)

To keep the whole school looking spectacular we ask if children can wear the full school uniform with each item clearly labelled, long hair tied up and no jewellery worn, this is for health and safety reasons as well as loss or damage of items of jewellery.

Homework will be issued on Friday and the children are to complete it and send it back in when they have finished (before the next piece of homework is handed out). Reading packs are required to be in school every day however the reading books are only changed on Friday. Mrs Speakman has kindly asked that children do not bring in personal items from home – this is also due to the potential loss and damage to your child’s precious item.

Please use the attached  curriculum map to help support your children at home.

Key topics to point out are pirates (stories in Literacy),our local area and maps in Geography. Songs by Bob Marley in Music and food groups in Science.  Next half term we will be studying the Stone Age in History.  Please help your child with the 3,4 and 8 times tables.

Finally thank you all for your support it is a great privilege to teach your fabulous children!
